Aneutronic Fusion: Addressing Regulatory Challenges and Reducing Risks
One of the key advantages of Kronos Fusion Energy’s proprietary aneutronic fusion technology is the significant reduction in regulatory hurdles compared to traditional nuclear reactors. In traditional nuclear energy, the production of neutrons results in radioactive byproducts, including tritium, which poses long-term environmental risks and the potential for nuclear weaponization.
By contrast, aneutronic fusion reactors, like those developed by Kronos, produce zero neutrons during their fusion process. The absence of neutrons eliminates the risk of nuclear weaponization and drastically reduces the creation of radioactive waste.
